Love this! Very thought provoking. I do think we will still need education and many of our “old” skills need to be taught: research, synthesis of ideas, comprehension. I hope AI doesn’t remove the human ability to think and contemplate. I thought AI would come for our jobs but I think—as your son says—AI can’t produce original thought. It can only squash out what it’s been fed in a different configuration. In a way, disrupting the system and ending capitalism and allowing for humans to exist in a creative space, removing all unnecessary jobs may be a good idea (as long as there’s UBI) but otherwise I’m not sure where the tech billionaires intend to go with AI. It’s environmentally costly and destructive to run on a mass scale.
